The Meaning of Woojinconity

The name Woojinconity reflects the direction we pursue. 'Woojin (宇進)' combines '宇 (universe)' and '進 (advance)' — meaning to advance beyond limits toward a wider world. To this we add 'Conity,' carrying the meaning of 'together,' to become today's Woojinconity. It embodies our philosophy: not a company that races ahead alone, but one that thinks together with its customers, grows together, and builds the future together. Printing is ultimately about carrying someone's content out into the world. Whether a company's brand, a single book, or a single printed piece, Woojinconity completes that value together with its customers.

The Prints Left by Woojin Tourism & Culture
In the 1960s and 70s, when even domestic travel — let alone overseas travel — was difficult, Woojin traveled the country with a single camera, visiting cultural heritage sites and tourist destinations in person. Photographing scenes and weaving them together with text into travel books and postcards was Woojin's first business. The publications Woojin created then were far more than printed matter. In an age without television or the internet, they were a window that first revealed 'places never seen' to many people, and today they remain precious records of Korea's landscapes and culture of that era. One thing has never changed since our earliest days. For Woojinconity, printing was never merely about making paper — it was about leaving records and conveying culture. Even now, as the times have changed and our focus has expanded to commercial printing and design, that philosophy continues unchanged.

A booklet from our predecessor, Woojin Tourism & Culture
In 1978, Woojin Tourism & Culture — the predecessor of Woojinconity — photographed, edited, and published the travel booklet 'Haeinsa, Sacred Site of Tourism,' featuring Haeinsa Temple. Having endured nearly half a century, this single booklet holds intact the way Woojin worked and the philosophy it followed. The effort of returning to a site again and again for a better photograph; the name 'Woojin Tourism & Culture,' clearly imprinted on the colophon. The reason the company still treasures this booklet is to never forget where we began. Even today, when we produce annual reports for financial institutions, books for publishers, or brand catalogs for companies, that spirit remains unchanged. Knowing that each printed piece can become a lasting record for someone, we complete every book and every page with a mind that understands its weight.
